  • Just as it is implied that the Jackacuda’s fishing hole was a well kept secret of local Destin fisherman, even more so is the Brotula.  Brotula, commonly known to local fisherman as the Cusk Eel, is a rare Gulf fish found in deeper waters of 300+ feet, usually considered more or less a bi-catch.  Local captains are amongst some of the only people that are truely familiar of this fish and realize its’ status as a delicacy of sorts.  Not only in the tradition of the secret of Jackacudas fishing hole, but also in the tradition of Destin itself as one of the country’s most beautiful and secret beaches and fishing locals until recent decades, so is the Brotula.  Furthermore, just as Jackacudas and it’s history has been made known to the common public via our sister restaurant, Jackacudas Seafood & Sushi, so will the Brotula by us here at Brotula’s Seafood House & Steamer!
